Job Description
As a Medical Receptionist in Nigeria, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Your role includes patient registration, appointment scheduling, front desk management, and customer service. You will ensure an efficient and welcoming environment at AMCE Abuja, contributing to a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration & Documentation
- Greet patients and visitors warmly to enhance the customer service experience in Abuja healthcare facilities.
- Accurately collect and verify patient details, including insurance information and medical records.
- Maintain and update patient records using hospital information systems.
- Guide patients through the admission process while ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
Front Desk Operations
- Manage inquiries from patients and visitors professionally.
- Oversee the front office operations by ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Schedule hospital appointments and assist with patient flow management.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to relevant departments.
- Monitor waiting areas and provide patients with status updates.
Admission Coordination
- Facilitate the hospital admission process by ensuring necessary documentation is completed.
- Liaise with clinical teams to confirm bed availability and patient room allocations.
- Educate patients and families on hospital policies, procedures, and financial requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of admissions and discharges in the system.
Customer Service & Problem Resolution
- Address patient concerns and inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Escalate complex issues to the Front Office Supervisor when necessary.
- Educate visitors on available healthcare services and procedures.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Adhere to hospital confidentiality policies and maintain strict data security.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare safety regulations and infection control protocols.
- Participate in regular training programs to stay updated on hospital policies and healthcare procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Certification or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Front Desk, Receptionist, or Customer Service role in Nigeria.
- Prior experience in hospital administration or medical reception is an advantage.
- Familiarity with hospital management software.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hospital information systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of hospital registration, medical billing, and insurance processing.
