Job Summary
- The cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, nutritional standards, and health regulations.
- This role requires an individual with a passion for culinary excellence, strong kitchen management skills, and an unwavering commitment to hygiene and food safety.
- The successful candidate will deliver consistent, innovative, and delectable menu offerings while ensuring efficiency and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a weekly meal timetable that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner across various cuisines (local and intercontinental).
- Prepare meals according to specified dietary requirements, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Ensure kitchen hygiene by maintaining sanitary cooking stations and complying with food safety regulations.
- Procure, store, and monitor kitchen supplies and minimize food waste through smart inventory control.
- Monitor food freshness, handle perishables responsibly, and ensure proper storage practices.
- Maintain kitchen appliances, utensils, and equipment, escalating issues for timely repairs.
- Ensure punctual meal service and adapt to changing dietary needs or guest requests.
- Perform weekly deep cleaning and daily cleanup of the kitchen, pantry, and cold storage.
Requirements
- A certificate in culinary arts or hospitality management is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience in a private residence, corporate kitchen, or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian, continental, and healthy dietary meal preparation.
- Ability to manage kitchen inventory, plan menus, and work unsupervised.
- Understanding of food safety, cleanliness protocols, and kitchen compliance.
- Must reside within proximity to Lekki or be willing to commute reliably.
